PrimeProbe2 is a bi-directional insertion flowmeter for use in managing water distribution systems. It has no moving parts making it reliable and ideal for use over a wide range of flows. PrimeProbe is suitable for use in pipe sizes from 80mm to 2000mm.

Performance

PrimeProbe2 is a rugged device offering the highest specification. The sensor is a special design with the electrodes mounted on the bottom of the sensor tip. This improves the performance at very low flows because the electrodes are positioned where turbulent flow is at the minimum.

Furthermore, PrimeProbe2 is able to operate in water with conductivity down to 5µSiemens/cm. This means that it can operate in pure water areas such as often found in mountainous regions, etc. Applications

Flexible data collection

PrimeProbe2 is available with a choice of four insertion lengths; 300mm, 500mm, 700mm and 1000mm. It is fitted with a quick release pressure fitting for optional pressure measurement when used in conjunction with a PrimeLog, XiLog or XiLog.wmr loggers.

The flowmeter provides a pulsed signal output which may be connected to PrimeLog for local data collection or to a XiLog logger for remote data collection via SMS. Logged flow and pressure data is transferred to PrimeWorks, Primayer’s comprehensive data management software. PrimeWorks provides extensive graphing, reporting, export, statistics and database facilities.

PrimeProbe2 is available in two versions:.

The Compact version is one instrument and has an integral converter for ease of installation. It is fully submersible to IP68 and is powered from internal batteries for a period of up to ten years (dependant upon sampling regime). Programming is carried out via USB connection to a computer.

The Remote version has a separate converter which incorporates a display and keypad which may be used for programming. This version has internal batteries or can be optionally mains powered without the need for a different converter. The sensor is fully submersible to IP68 and the converter is specified to IP67.
